How They Work
Guaranteed Payment
Finecases.com believes that you, the buyer of our Gift Certificates, should determine what will be done with a certificate which remains unclaimed, or which is never used by the recipient. So, we offer our exclusive Guaranteed Payment Gift Certificates. After all, this is your money, not ours—and it should remain that way.
Gift Certificates which are not Claimed after one full year from date issued will be canceled, and a refund check for the full face value of the certificate will be mailed either to you or to your intended recipient, depending on the preference you indicate when you create your certificate.
Creating A Gift Certificate
Buying our Gift Certificates is a very easy process. Using our on-line Gift Certificate Form you can create your own customized Gift Certificate and preview an on-line sample of what the recipient will receive. At the time you create your certificate you will indicate your preferences, including the certificate amount, when the certificate will be sent (you can defer future delivery up to 90 days), how the certificate will be sent, and any customized message you wish to send to the recipient.
You may edit the certificate you create until you are satisfied with what you have crafted. Once you are happy with the Gift Certificate you can add it to your shopping cart. After it has been added to your cart it cannot be edited further. You may still preview the actual certificate and your preferences from the links provided to you in your shopping cart. If you are dissatisfied with your certificate after adding it to your cart, or you decide to change it, you can always delete it from your cart and create a new Gift Certificate exactly as you want before adding it to your cart.
Gift Certificates placed into your shopping cart will not be sent until you have completed the checkout process and payment has been received from you. Once payment has been received and verified, your Gift Certificate(s) will be sent within 24 hours or on the future date you indicated when you created your certificate.
Gift Certificates are sent by the method you specify (e-mail and/or US Mail or Federal Express). Remember that the Gift Certificate is sent on the date you indicate, so if you need your certificate to arrive by a particular date, you should consider that when deciding what date to have your certificate sent. If the send date you have selected falls on a weekend or holiday, then your certificate will be sent on the next business day following your send date.
The Gift Certificate you create will be assigned a unique Gift Certificate ID Number and a randomly-generated PassKey code, both which are required to Claim the certificate. Only the recipient will receive this information, so the certificate can be used only by your intended recipient.
Claiming A Gift Certificate
You do not need to have an active account in order to receive our Gift Certificate. However, you will need to establish a customer account with us in order to redeem the certificate you have received. The process is easy and free to you, and includes complete control over your opt-in and opt-out preferences.
Our Gift Certificates are considered Claimed once they have been redeemed at least once by you, the recipient. Redeeming the Gift Certificate is easy. Along with the Gift Certificate you received, you have also received your unique Gift Certificate ID Number which is assigned to your certificate and a unique PassKey code, which is required to unlock your Gift Certificate.
There is only one way to redeem your Gift Certificate. Whether you are a new user or a returning customer, the process is the same. Simply shop our on-line store and add items to your shopping cart as you normally would. When you are finished shopping, click the "Go to Checkout" button from the Shopping Cart. During the checkout process a link will be available to redeem certificates. Follow the instructions and in the area provided, enter the unique Gift Certificate ID Number and PassKey code which have been provided to you, and your Gift Certificate will be Claimed and applied to the amount of your Shopping Cart purchase.
If your Shopping Cart total exceeds the amount of the Gift Certificate, you will be prompted for the payment method you prefer to pay the remaining balance due. If the face value of your Gift Certificate exceeds your Shopping Cart purchase, then any unused balance on your Gift Certificate will be retained for future purchases by you.
There is no time limit on using any remaining balance for your future purchases. You can view your remaining Gift Certificate balance by signing in and viewing your account. If you have any balance remaining on any unused Gift Certificate(s), a link will be displayed to you which displays the total of your Gift Certificate fund balance. If you do not have a balance remaining on your Gift Certificate, this link will not be displayed.
The next time you purchase from www.finecases.com, any remaining balance on your active certificate will be used first, until that Gift Certificate is redeemed in full. Only one Gift Certificate may be active in your account at any time. However, if you have received another Gift Certificate, you may redeem that certificate in succession toward your next purchase until all your certificate balances are used in full.
Verification and Activation Process
Gift Certificates are not activated or disbursed until payment has been received and payment has cleared. All Gift Certificate orders are subject to a verification process, and any information submitted that does not verify with a customer's financial institutions may cause delays. E-mailed and physically shipped certificates are subject to the same verification rules, which could prevent your certificate from being sent within 24 hours of receipt of payment.
Effective Duration
Our Gift Certificates are valid for one year from date issued. During this period, Gift Certificates will be considered Claimed if they have been used at least once by the recipient. Unused balances for certificates which have been Claimed but are not used in total by the recipient will be retained in the recipient's account for future purchases at www.finecases.com, without any time limits. Claimed certificates cannot be redeemed for cash. Gift Certificates can be used for future purchases only and cannot be applied to past purchases.
Shipping and Handling Charges
For each certificate issued, www.finecases.com adds a non-refundable $1.00 processing charge, which is added to your shopping cart total. Other charges may include fees for postage or overnight courier charges, as may be specified by you when you create your Gift Certificate. These charges are non-refundable.
Cancellations, Returns and Exchanges
Our Gift Certificates cannot be exchanged, returned, or canceled by the purchaser once they have been issued to the recipient.
Lost or Stolen Certificates
Whether you are the giver or the receiver of one of our Gift
Certificates, if you have reason to believe that the certificate you bought or received has been stolen or used fraudulently, contact us immediately at

. We will immediately freeze the certificate and initiate an investigation, and we will contact you with further instructions within five business days. You will be involved in and remain fully informed about the investigation and resolution process.
Your Privacy
In order to process your Gift Certificate, we request basic information from you so that we may create and send the certificate according to the preferences you have indicated. This information includes the address of the individual recipient you have identified. The information is used solely and exclusively for the purposes of creating and sending your Gift Certificate, and we will never use the information collected here for any purposes other than those stated here.
