Cookies, Javascript
and Issues Regarding Information Collection

Cookies and Javascript are Required Your browser must accept our cookies and javascript to make purchases at this site. If your browser is not accepting our cookies or javascript , or you are using an older browser which does not support cookies or javascript, you will still be able to browse our website and view the products and information available here.
However, without javascript and cookies active in your browser, your individual browsing experience may be less than satisfactory and could even be frustrating for you. You will not be able to learn about many of the features of products we sell, and you will not be able to successfully complete our checkout process or purchase products on our website.
Our system will detect whether your browser is accepting our cookies and javascript and may redirect you to error pages we have designed to explain our use of cookies and javascript. These error pages will also provide instructions for how to activate cookies or javascript in your browser and provide links for upgrading your web browser.
You do not need to have cookies or javascript active to read all our Store Policies and learn about our professional Affiliations.
Cookies Cookies provide web browsers with a means to retain data about your browsing session on your machine. While some cookies may be stored permanently, our site stores temporary cookies which are deleted within 48 hours after leaving our site. We DO NOT use cookies to collect any personally identifiable information about you or your browsing habits whatsoever.
We use cookies for the purpose of tracking and managing your shopping session. For example, our website allows you to record detailed measurements for products which can be custom-made to your specifications, and we use cookies to help maintain the flow of this data through the shopping cart and checkout process. Also, once you have logged-in to your account, cookies allow us to reconcile your current shopping cart contents with contents you may have saved during a previous shopping session in anticipation of a future checkout date. These and other conveniences are possible through our use of cookies and are generally designed to enhance your finecases.com shopping experience.
This privacy policy covers the use of cookies by finecases.com only. We cannot control or anticipate cookies which may have been set by other websites you have visited prior to your visiting our website. All cookies set by our site are used only by our site. Only finecases.com will set a cookie on your computer during your browsing experience with us, and any stored cookies are retrieved only by finecases.com and deleted or deactivated once your have quit your browser application.
Javascript Javascripts are short lines of programming code which interact with your web browser application to produce desired effects. We DO NOT use javascripts to collect any personally identifiable information about you or your browsing habits whatsoever.
Finecases.com uses limited amounts of javascript to help make overall site navigation an intuitive experience. For example, throughout the website you will find clickable links which call forth "popup" informational boxes, measurement forms or other instructive or interactive windows. These "popups" allow us to present information or choices to you only when you request that information or choice, and in a manner which does not interfere with or side-track your navigation through our site. In addition, we use javascript for visual effects on our web pages, such as image "rollovers" which change when you place your mouse over a link or button. We also use javascript to provide verification of email addresses on our forms which require an email address.
These "popup" screens, "rollover" images, verification filters and other javascripts we use are implemented through the use of a few lines of javascript code embedded in the html document or in external files which your browser has loaded from our website. They are intended only to enhance your browsing experience and to make the entire process more user-friendly.
Log Files Like most standard website servers, we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit pages, platform type, date and time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track users movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. This log information is not linked to personally identifiable information.

Site Security

Finecases.com takes every precaution to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via our website, your information is protected both online and offline.
OnLine Security When our online order form asks you to enter sensitive information (such as your credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry, called "Secure Socket Layers" (SSL). While on a secure page, such as our credit card checkout form, the "lock icon" on the bottom of web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer appears locked, as opposed to un-locked (or open) when users are just "surfing."
Finecases.com utilizes a state-of-the-art SSL encryption certificate issued to us by VeriSign, the world's leading Certificate Authority. Verisign's authentication and verification procedures are based on years of practice, authenticating more than half a million commercial businesses and more than 450,000 web servers. VeriSign is the SSL Certificate provider of choice for over 93% of the Fortune 500 and the world's 40 largest banks, businesses that know the most about Internet security. They trust VeriSign because of its encryption technology and rigorous business authentication practices. When you see the VeriSign Secured Seal, you can be confident and secure that we are who we say we are and your transactions are secure.
The browser you use must be capable of supporting 128-bit encryption. This is the most secure method of transmitting sensitive information. If your browser only has 40-bit encryption, you should upgrade your browser before making purchases on this website.
OffLine Security While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user information offline. All of our users information (not just the sensitive information mentioned above) is restricted in our offices. Only individuals who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, such as processing your credit card or preparing your shipping label) are granted access to personally identifiable information. In addition, we keep sensitive information, such as your credit card number, in a separate location on our secure server. The servers that store personally identifiable information are themselves in a secure environment, in a locked facility.
