2003–2004 Golden Web Award

2002-2004 Golden Web Award
EastesArts has won the most popular and sought-after award available on the World Wide Web.  This website was reviewed by the International Association of Web Masters and Designers (www.iawmd.com) and chosen to bear the prestigious 2003-2004 Golden Web Award.

Only the best sites are voted to receive the Golden Web Award.  The primary benefit of the Golden Web Award is the recognition of a commitment to the pursuit of website excellence.  Further, it represents that finecases.com is considered an outstanding website, incorporating high standards of design, originality and content.  Most importantly, the Golden Web Award lets others know that this site is respected by professional peers and is one deserving of recognition.

Our Policy Regarding Accepting Awards
EastesArts and finecases.com believes that the process of deciding winners for Web awards and honors should remain objective and unbiased, and that such awards should be a free expression of the purposes of each stated award organization. Some web awards require fees or other renumeration which in our view compromises the legitimacy of such awards. As designers ourselves we know that it is not uncommon in the print media industry to have shelves full of as many awards as you can afford. EastesArts has accepted these awards displayed here without providing compensation to the presenting organizations, which requires none.

Acceptance of most web awards often requires the recipient to include a link back to the award site—something which is directly contrary to our published Store Policies. However, we understand that organizations which engage in awards programs also need recognition and revenues, but we were still shocked when we received our first web award, the link to which produced sexually-oriented popup ads on our website. Needless to say, that award was dropped from this page very quickly and caused us to re-think how we can give credit where credit is due, back to the presenter of the awards we accept. For this reason, we provide credit through our own popup windows, and by clicking on any of the award icons above you may learn the purposes and contact information for each presenting site. This allows us to filter any unwanted or unintended browsing results which we—and in some instances, even the presenting site—cannot control or predict.

We maintain on file the emailed notifications of our awards, as evidence we are legitimate recipients of these honors. If you are the presenter of any of the awards depicted here and do not agree with the manner in which we have presented our acceptance of your award, please let us know and we will be happy to remove all references to your site from finecases.com.
